As a child, there was an abundance of paper as my family owned a paper merchant company. Whilst on the phone, dad would create imaginative doodles or squiggle then ask that I make something out of it. This gave form to my style.
Literature was my mother's passion and movies inspired family discussion. Such influences shaped my creative aspirations. Fundamental to my bourgeois upbringing was graduating from university. Being reluctantly skilled in the pragmatism of numbers has enabled me to support my creativity and seek balance between the figurative and literal, fantasy and reality.
As a modern artist, I have felt it necessary to apply myself to many art forms. Creating art and making films is deeply rewarding yet seemingly a challenge within the Australian cultural frontier.
In finance, I have worked for television, media, production and events management companies: Limelight (London), Southern Star, Film Australia, ABC-TV, Beyond International, ATN7, Markson Sparks, Endemol and more recently National Indigenous TV.
Travelling has offered many experiences, a source of great colour and inspiration, an appreciation of other people and cultures. I pursue creativity as much for the process of doing, a sense of fulfillment, my contribution to life in the hope of making others think.
